MAP – MY ACTION PLAN

All of us can grow closer to Jesus in our relationship with Him. In fact, this is TD Church’s definition of spiritual growth: how close I live to Jesus. But not everyone is in the same place in their spiritual journey. Therefore, we have developed a tool to help you determine where you are, and how to grow closer to Jesus. Depending on where you are in your spiritual journey, some things will be more relevant to you than others. We call it “My Action Plan”, or MAP. We help people by linking phases with colours.

Here is your MAP:

(First identify in which phase you find yourself and then look at what the relevant actions for that colour are)

Yellow: You are exploring spirituality or Christianity

You are most likely in yellow if:

  1. Are you still exploring spirituality or Christianity, or you are a new Christian, or
  2. The TD church way of being a Christian is still strange to you, or
  3. You are a Christian who has fallen back and is uncertain about your relationship with Jesus.

Blue: Get to know Jesus

You are most likely in blue if:

  1. You are a regular visitor to church activities (such as TD Celebration/Sunday services), BUT
  2. you are still uninvolved in any other activities of the congregation, and / or
  3. you are still new to Christianity, and / or
  4. you are new to TD Church’s way of being a Christian, and / or
  5. you have not yet been born again, and / or
  6. you did not undergo baptism in water after repentance.

Red: Growing in Jesus

You are most likely in red if:

  1. You were born again and baptized after your conversion, and
  2. You are a partner of TD Church, and
  3. You began to grow in your relationship with Jesus, and
  4. You are involved in a PLUGG group or serve in the congregation in a ministry

Green: Near Jesus

You are most likely in green if:

  1. You live close to Jesus, and
  2. You know Biblical truths and live by them, and
  3. You are a partner of TD Church, and
  4. You use your gifts and talents to serve the kingdom of God in and outside the church, and
  5. You like to reach out to unbelievers and testify of Jesus.

Purple: Jesus is the centre of my life

You are most likely in purple if:

  1. Jesus is centre of your life, and
  2. You have come a long way with God, and
  3. You take responsibility for making disciples, and
  4. You are involved in a ministry within TD Church or in the community, or
  5. You are the leader of a ministry within TD church or in the community.

COULD YOU SEE YOURSELF IN ONE OF THESE PHASES? OR MAYBE ASPECTS IN ONE OR MORE?

Here are suggestions that will help you grow in your different stages of spiritual growth.

If you are Yellow:

  1. Attend our Sunday services.
  2. Attend one of our Alpha events. This is an 8-week course where we explore faith and spiritual question. (calendar)
  3. See a pastoral team member or leader in TD church to talk about your life (contact us)
  4. If you are a teenager, join PLUGG or if you are in primary school, join Stars (or Transformers for Gr7s). (contact us)
  5. Start reading the Bible. Start reading throughout the New Testament first.
  6. Start praying (read Matt 6: 5-15).
  7. If you want us to contact you, please complete one of the contact forms on our website. We would love to hear from you!

If you are Blue:

  1. Make an appointment with a pastoral team member to talk about your spiritual life (contact us)
  2. Read the Bible – especially the New Testament!
  3. Attend our LAUNCH for basic spiritual input and / or to become a partner of TD Church (calendar).
  4. Attend a Foundation course (calendar)
  5. Contact us to talk to us about baptism (contact us).
  6. Continue to attend our services on Sundays.
  7. If you are a teenager, join PLUGG. If you are a primary school child, join our Stars (or Transformers for Gr 7s). (contact us)

If you are Red:

  1. Read the Bible regularly – especially the New Testament. Use the YouVersion app for reading plans.
  2. Join one of TD Church’s PLUGG groups (contact us)
  3. Attend a prayer course (calendar)
  4. Get involved in one of the ministries in TD Church (see website or contact us)
  5. Join one of our Bible Courses or many short courses (Calendar).
  6. If you are a teenager, join PLUGG. If you are a primary school child, join our Stars (or Transformers for Gr7s) on Sundays.
  7. OR talk to our ministry leader.

If you are Green:

  1. Read through the whole Bible. Use resources to better understand the Bible (resources).
  2. Attend a prayer or “how to tell” course (calendar).
  3. Sign up for Raising City Changers (RCC) process (contact us)
  4. Do a group leadership course (Information from a ministry leader)
  5. Start a PLUGG group (contact us)
  6. Get involved in one of our many ministries
  7. Get involved with a Xperia point or go on an outreach (contact us)
  8. OR talk to our ministry leader.

If you are Purple:

  1. Take a leadership role in a ministry.
  2. Start a new ministry within TD Church or in the community.
  3. Begin to purposefully walk a path with some people and make disciples of them, formally or informally.
  4. Teach other people in your field of ministry to do what you do.
  5. Sign up for our Raising City Changers (RCC) process (contact visionary leader)
  6. If you are interested, consider more formal theological training (talk to us to steer you in the right direction, contact our visionary leader).
  7. OR talk to our ministry leader / visionary leader.
